SEICOG
Layne Bourgeous
SErVICES
- Southeast Idaho Council of Governments (SEICOG) is based in Pocatello but covers all of Southeast County and Southeast Idaho. SEICOG is designated an economic development district through EDA which enables them to work with the local communities to develop a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) which the government will use to define an economic plan for the region.
- SEICOG works closely with communities, local elected officials, other counties, and economic development professionals to help secure funding and administer grant funding for those projects. If the cities are looking to apply for federal or state funding for economic or community development projects, the government wants to see that the projects are aligned with the given plan.
- SEICOG operates revolving, flexible loan funds and has a few different portfolios intended to fill the gap where traditional financing isn’t available to help businesses, especially for startup businesses. SEICOG also works to provide preventative services and resources to seniors to help them remain in their homes. Senior services are provided by the Area Agency on Aging at SEICOG.
- If you recognize a community that is great for business but doesn't have the capacity or infrastructure, SEICOG will be happy to work with that community which comes at no cost to the community. If you know businesses who need funding and who can’t get it from traditional lenders, SEICOG is happy to help or provide more information.
